600 DAYS OF NAVIGATION FOR BREATHABLE OCEANS

In the concern for the continuity of biodiversity, ecology occupies a primordial place in our project. Stop hovering, the Earth is in apnea !!

Eco-responsible
600 DAYS OF NAVIGATION FOR BREATHABLE OCEANS

What are the objectives of your trip?

Of course, our goal is above all to survive the intensification of meteorological phenomena caused by climate change.< / span>

Within our means, we would like to:

>>Contribute to the preservation of ecosystems , particularly marine biodiversity extremely affected by several harmful phenomena such as the acidification of the oceans or the seas of plastics.

>>Report disrespectful acts towards the environment . From the field, at the heart of their consequences, we want to mark, challenge the minds and create a real awareness of the need for an eco-responsible world.

>>Convince the importance of ecology and mobilize to contribute to its development.

We are a team of four childhood friends, nature lovers and united by a passion for travel. Divided into very diverse professional paths (journalistic, scientific, management or even catering), we share the same motivations, the birth of a more eco-responsible world.

Through communication and our in-depth scientific knowledge , we want to raise awareness among populations, help them understand the evolution of environmental phenomena, their causes and consequences.

What's your motivation?

We are a team of four childhood friends, nature lovers and united by a passion for travel. Spread across very diverse professional paths (journalistic, scientific, management and catering ), we share the same motivations, the birth of a more eco-responsible world.

WE MUST REACT!

Someday it clicks! Siberia and Australia are on fire, bees are succumbing to pesticides, drinking water supplies are disappearing and almost all of the cycles of the elements necessary for life are out of balance for decades. The awakening is brutal and the ecological emergency becomes obvious.

What about us?

Above all, we want to make a trip around the world as environmentally friendly as possible, far from planes and cruise ships since we denounce means of transport with a large carbon footprint. On board our sailboat , the Waka Waka, we dream of traveling the world while helping the planet. Aware of the magnitude of our dream, we are ready to do anything to help it. We believe in unifying minimalist actions leading to real change. We then decided to create our association “Against the current” , in order to see this unification.

How are you going to achieve them?

The tools

~ The boat

We will leave aboard our beloved sailboat the Waka waka, an 11.8m Jeanneau Sun fizz. Equipped with three double cabins, its comfort, reliability and almost non-existent fuel consumption make it the ideal means of transport. We have been renovating it since the beginning of October so that it is ready for the big departure! From the hull, to the rigging through the electrical circuits or even its practical improvement, nothing is left to chance.

~ The navigation

We cannot be said to be seasoned sailors. We still have a lot to learn, but motivation and ambition are there . We are counting on numerous sailing courses already programmed, significant acquired bases, the advice of experienced sailors and an irrefutable desire to become a true navigator.

~ Equipment

We will be equipped with a GARMIN ECHOMAP PLUS 62CV navigation system, a 400W wind turbine and 'a solar panel . For our safety, we will use life jackets with GPS beacon.

~ For communication

In order to denounce abusive behavior towards the environment or simply behind the scenes of our daily life, we want to make mini-reports, videos, photos or even through articles published on our website and our GlobeDreamers travel journal.

The means

In summary, we have several objectives but two distinct categories: whistleblowing and prevention.

On the denunciation program:

  • videos
  • mini-reports
  • photos
  • testimonials
  • articles
  • popularization of science to better understand ecological disasters

On the preventive actions program:

  • Participate in the reforestation of forests in an appropriate manner
  • Cleaning up as many polluted sites as possible (beach, forest, oceans, etc.)
  • Awareness of ecological gestures (recycling, use of biodegradable materials….)
  • Gathering bodies and minds around ecology
  • Fun and intergenerational actions

Our ecological conviction does not stop with this ambitious project.Against the tide , our association has just seen the light of day and we will make our world tour in its name. In addition, we are always looking for partnerships to support us in our various objectives. Please do not hesitate to contact us via our social networks to submit your ideas or questions.

Who am I

I come from a small town in Cantal, in the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes. I grew up in the middle of the rapeseed fields about thirty kilometers from Bourges. And today, I flourish in Port Leucate on the Waka Waka that I renovate a little more every day. I have recently been working on site as a seasonal worker. Never having succeeded in finding my way through university courses, I travel the professional world from sector to sector, hoping to find my place one day.

My hobbies

I am passionate about hiking, sailing, nature and travel. But currently, nothing fascinates me more than this project to which I devote a good part of my time.

What I am looking for through this trip

This world tour is a real opportunity for me. I could serve a cause close to my heart while traveling on my vollier. I dream of discovering the world, these civilizations and its cultures. And I hope that through this journey I will find my place.
