What are the objectives of your trip?
Reach South-East Asia by road, by going out to meet people with the support of images filmed daily on our farm and a string puppet "Kika the goat", and keep a blog at the destination children, recounting the adventures of Kika. We also have a personal goal of family cohesion and discovery for our eldest son of Vietnam, his country of birth.
What's your motivation?
We need a parenthesis in our hectic life as mountain farmers, to spend time together, and to talk to farmers from elsewhere about our lives. In this journey, we feel the need to not only be a spectator, but to bring something of ourselves as well, through this little unpretentious show that stages our life here.
The choice of this road trip is to allow us to meet people at home, all along the way, and not just in the tourist spots.
How are you going to achieve them?
We take the road with La Coco, our old campsite -car equipped for a long trip. We take with us a puppet on which we are currently working, as well as a small film that we make by filming our daily life in our profession. Our children are stakeholders in the project and participate in the show. We are also going to run a blog aimed at children, which will tell about Kika's adventures, mixing storytelling, drawing, questioning about the trip and the people we met etc.
We also put our blog at your disposal so that you can follow our adventure!
Big expense item, around 2,500 euros, visas! We already have our vehicle, there will surely be repairs along the way, it's part of the journey! But a big revision is necessary, change of tires, clutch in particular, 1000 euros minimum. Then good medical and repatriation insurance, 1800 euros for the basic.
Who am I
Noémie, 40, married to Julien 42, we have 3 adopted children aged 11, 6 and 1. Veterinarians by training, we quickly chose a profession that fascinates us, breeding, in an enchanting setting in the high mountains. For 13 years since we created our farm, Ferme des Cabrioles, we have worked hard every day to give meaning to our profession and transmit to our children values that are dear to us.
But without wanting to give up our dreams ...
Nature, Man, livestock and animals!
What I am looking for through this trip
The simple pleasure of traveling and going to meet people, and share around our farming profession, a profession which is the most important in the world since it nourishes people.
And share with our children these values of curiosity, openness towards others, and especially humility about our place on this earth.
